I was doing my usual rounds and discovered the following:

  1. I can no longer comment on Blogger sites while at work due to new security policies.
  2. Robert needs a bit of a perspective adjustment.

On the former, I apologize to my good friends who use Blogger – now I can’t comment on anything unless I think about it when I get home. On the latter, here’s the part that kind of struck me as ironic in the unintentional way…

The end game is obvious, mostly because of what radical Islam confesses to want and the historical situation in the region. I don’t understand why so many people choose to remain ignorant and weak. Islam is seeking to rule the world! They want to convert the entire world to Islam, and they don’t care how many people they have to kill to do it. In fact, the more they kill, the less they have to actually convert. It is unfortunate that so may in this country no longer care about America winning. They no longer care about America’s interests. They simply wish to find all that is bad about America and western civilization. Take the ridiculous comments about how no one was our enemy until we invaded Iraq. I guess I missed the candy and roses that were sent by Al-Qaeda on 9/11.

Iran wants to rule the region. We can’t let them do that under any circumstance. We won’t convert the mind-numbed and cowardly democrats who wish to end the war by losing it, but we can take action and make sure that 2008 goes the right way. My friends, we must persist, we must take action, and we must win.

There’s this fantastic song by Steve Vai called “Under it All” in which he puts two voices in opposing left and right outputs. One side is obviously a representation of an politician and the other a radical fundamentalist. It’s very telling in that human nature, regardless of what country you call home or what creed you call your own, doesn’t change much. Only the words change because the intentions obviously don’t. As an example, please see the following corrected version of Robert’s words. I think it illustrates this dichotomy pretty well.

The end game is obvious, mostly because of what the West confesses to want and the historical situation in the region. I don’t understand why so many people choose to remain ignorant and weak. Christianity is seeking to rule the world! They want to convert the entire world to Christianity, and they don’t care how many people they have to kill to do it. In fact, the more they kill, the less they have to actually convert. It is unfortunate that so may in this country no longer care about Islam winning. They no longer care about Iraq’s interests. They simply wish to find all that is bad about Islam and middle eastern civilization. Take the ridiculous comments about how no one was our enemy until 9/11. I guess I missed the candy and roses that were sent by the West since the Crusades.

America wants to rule the region. We can’t let them do that under any circumstance. We won’t convert the mind-numbed and cowardly infidels who wish to end the war by losing it, but we can take action and make sure that this goes the right way. My friends, we must persist, we must take action, and we must win.

Sounds a bit like Muqtada al-Sadr, don’t you think?

Those security policies bite, don’t they? I can’t even check my personal email because of them. Contrary to popular belief, it does not make me more productive. I know, thee are those who do no work and check myspace and stuff all day, but a quick 2 minute check on my email is better than me having to make 10 phone calls, right?

Interesting post. I would like you to go back and check…we WERE NOT intervening in the region, other than politically, before 9/11. That is the crucial point. We should have been. We should never have abandoned Afghanistan in 1989. But the fact is that we did, and it isn’t like we had nohing else going on. That damn Berlin Wall fell and distracted us a bit, did it not?

We have not been at war with Islam, and our response to 9/11 is no more a fault of the Crusaes than Pearl Harbor. We weren’t trying to convert anyone through fear of death. We probably should have swung a stick in the region a little earlier, though.

We weren’t intervening in the region before 9/11? Yet we shouldn’t have abandoned Afghanistan in 1989?

    O_o

If your own characterization of our funding Osama wasn’t enough of a clue how wrong you are, perhaps I’m not the one who needs to go back and check. We’ve been intervening in that region since Jefferson, my friend. It only got worse when it was discovered how much black gold that region holds.

And regardless of the fact that your hero Ann Coulter once clearly stated, “We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity,” which pretty much contradicts your assertion that we weren’t try to convert anyone through fear or death, it doesn’t matter what our intentions are; it only matters what they perceive. When it comes to global politics, perception IS reality.
